Glove Compartment, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Make sure the connectors are pushed in all the way and that they engage audibly.
- Make sure the wires are not pinched.
Market-Specific for North America:
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Connect the connector -1- to the airbag igniter -arrow A-.
-- Press in the connector lock -2- -arrow B-. While doing this, the connector is pushed into the airbag igniter all the way and locks into place.
-- Position the retaining strap -2- for the trim molding -3- on the center attachment point -arrow-.
-- Position the glove compartment -1- and install the center bolt -4-.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- If the battery was disconnected, perform the required steps after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Risk of airbag deployment.
Risk of injury.
- Switching on the ignition (key/button) after assembly may only be done when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.
- If the instrument cluster indicates a fault in the airbag system after assembly, the DTC memory must be checked, erased, and then checked again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
