E-Box, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when the ignition is switched off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- TFSI: remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- TDI: remove the air filter housing. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- TFSI: Remove the engine/motor control module and put aside with connected connectors. Refer to ENGINE/MOTOR CONTROL MODULE -J623-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- TDI: Remove the engine/motor control module and put aside with connected connectors. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Press the release button -arrows- and remove the cover -1- for the engine compartment E-box.

-- Free up the wiring harness -3-.

-- Open the tab using a screwdriver -2- and remove the front cover -1- upward.

-- Cut the cable tie -1- at the lower wiring harness.

-- Release the catches -arrows-, remove the Fuse Panel B -SB- -item 2- and set it to the side.

-- Free up the wiring harness -3-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and then remove the engine control module bracket -1-.

-- Open the tab -4- and disengage the Engine compartment E-box -2- from the threaded pins.

-- Remove the engine compartment E-box upward.
