Adaptive Cruise Control (Acc), Adjusting, Dynamic Adjustment
Calibration/adjustment must be performed if:
- The installation position of the Control Module for Adaptive Cruise Control -J428- in the vehicle has changed.
- Rear axle toe/chamber was adjusted.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
Procedure
-- Check sensors and retainers for damage, external influence and secure fit. Service any damaged components.
-- Check the front bumper cover for damage, cracks and secure fit. Service any damaged components.
-- Check the DTC memory for adaptive cruise control (ACC). Fix all displayed entries.
- The ACC control module "adjustment angle measured value" shows whether the sensor is misaligned.
- Proper ACC operation requires correct alignment.
-- Turn on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Select and start the Diagnostic operating mode.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Individual tests button.
Dynamic Calibration of a Driver Assistance System
-- Select the following items in the tree structure one after the other:
- Diagnostic-capable systems
- 0013 - Control Module for Adaptive Cruise Control-J428
- 0013 - Control Module for Adaptive Cruise Control, functions
- 0013 - Calibration
-- Start the selected program and based on the calibration from a short drive, follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
Dynamic Calibration of Several Driver Assistance Systems
The adaptive cruise control and the lane change assistance can also be calibrated together during the calibration run, to do so, select the following tree structure:
- Diagnostic-capable systems

-- Start the selected program and based on the calibration from a short drive, follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
