Refrigerant Line With Inner Heat EXCHANGER, Removing And Installing, 2.0 TFSI Ea888 EVO 4: Removing
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the connection from the turbocharger. Refer to OVERVIEW - TURBOCHARGER .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C Service Station, Connecting or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Mark the installation position of the coolant hoses -4 and 5- (shown without the heat shield mat).
- The heater core is designed for a specific coolant flow direction. Therefore, coolant hoses must be connected on the correct sides.
-- Lift the clamps -3 and 6- and remove the coolant hoses from the heater core for the heater.
-- Unclip the wiring guide -1- and free up the wire.
-- Remove the spring nut -3-.
-- Fold the heat shield mat -2- forward and down in direction of -arrow-.
-- Release the retainer -arrow-, pull the heat shield -1- off to the left and remove it.
-- Remove the coolant expansion tank -5- and move it to the side with the hoses still attached.
Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit has not been opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the bolt -6-.
-- Disconnect the refrigerant line -4- with the inner heat exchanger from the expansion valve.
-- Remove the nuts -1- and remove the refrigerant lines -2 and 3-.
-- Free up and remove the refrigerant line -4- with the inner heat exchanger.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
