Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- on the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31- /Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 -G299-.

-- Remove the line -2- for the EVAP system, to do so push the release buttons on both sides.

-- Free up the wire for the EVAP system at the air duct pipe.

-- Release the catches -arrows- using the Intake Manifold Release Tool :T10527 and :T10527/1 .

-- Remove the air duct pipe -1-.

-- Release the retainer in direction of -arrow-, pull the heat shield -1- off to the left and remove it.

-- Disconnect the connector for the High-Voltage Battery Coolant Valve -N688-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Loosen the bracket -1- from the plenum chamber bulkhead and lay aside the High-Voltage Battery Coolant Valve -N688- with the refrigerant lines still connected.

-- Free up the wires on the upper area of the heat shield.

-- If equipped, remove the heat shield -1-.

-- Remove the lock washers -3 and 5-.

-- Move the heat shield -4- as far forward as possible.

-- For all the following work, close the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .

CAUTION:

Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes have elapsed since evacuating the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, evacuate the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.

-- Disconnect the connector -C-.

Mark the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541- before removal and pay attention to the flow direction ("Arrow" points towards the expansion valve).

-- Loosen the union nuts -E- while counterholding on the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541- -D-.

-- Loosen the refrigerant line -F- to the coupling point on the right longitudinal member from the bracket on the plenum chamber bulkhead.

-- Remove the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541- -D-.
