Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, MODINE Condenser, RS 3: Removing
- For all the following work, close the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and air duct -1-.
Radiator Mount with Catch:
-- Use diagonal pliers to cut through the radiator mount catches in direction of -arrows- on the left and right sides, and then push the top of the radiator with the charge air cooling circuit cooler slightly toward the rear. (The radiator mount can be reused).
Radiator Mount with Threaded Connection:
-- Remove the left and right bolt -arrow-, and then push the radiator with the charge air cooler (or charge air cooling circuit cooler) and condenser slightly toward the rear.
Continuation for All:
-- Remove the safety warning label (if equipped).
-- Remove the cap -1- using the T50 Socket.
Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit has not been opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Push the closure cap -1- in slightly.
-- Remove the circlip -arrow- and then remove the closure cap from the condenser -2- using a M12 bolt.
-- Remove the filter element upward from the condenser receiver/dryer using, for example, a commercially available needle nose pliers.
-- Remove the dryer cartridge.
-- If the work is not completed, close open receiver/dryer immediately with the cap -1- to prevent dirt and moisture from entering.
