Fresh Air Intake Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with Structure-Borne Sound Control Module -J869- :
-- Remove the Structure-Borne Sound Control Module -J869- -1-. Refer to the appropriate service information .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- If equipped, disconnect the connector -3- from the Air Quality Sensor -G238-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Remove the fresh air intake cover -2- from the threaded pin -4- and remove it from the plenum chamber.
TIP:
- If the fresh air intake cover is damaged or installed incorrectly, water can enter the fresh air intake. This can lead to complaints regarding odor coming from the heater/A/C system and/or moisture in the vehicle interior.
- If the plenum chamber cover is damaged or incorrectly installed, water can enter the fresh air intake through the fresh air intake cover.
