Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

- If the Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979- is being replaced, perform the test plan for replacing the Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
Procedure
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
-- Select the Diagnostic mode and start the diagnosis.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Select individual test button and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Diagnostic-capable systems
- 0008 - A/C/Heater Electronics
- 0008 - A/C/Heater Electronics Functions
- 0008 - Control Module, Replacing
-- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connectors -4-.
-- Remove the expanding clips -2- using the Pliers :T40172A .
-- Remove the Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979- -1- with the bracket -3-.
Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979-, Separating from Bracket:
-- Release the locking tab on the back of the Heating and Air Conditioning Control Module -J979- -2- and pull the control module out of the bracket -1- -arrow-.
