Roof Reinforcement, Removing And Installing: Installing
-- Measure the width of the roof reinforcement and mark the center.
-- Guide the roof reinforcement into the vehicle.
Versions without Sliding Sunroof:
-- Mount the roof reinforcement -2- centered between the outer sides and at a distance -a- from the front bow -1- on the roof (example illustration).
- Dimension -a- = 15 ± 5 mm.
-- Mark the installation position and remove the roof reinforcement out of the vehicle again.
-- Apply the adhesive beads as shown on the roof reinforcement (example illustration).
-- Connect the support beads -2- according to the line markings -1- to the roof reinforcement.
- Thickness of the support beads is approximately 5 mm.
- Dimension -a- = 320 mm.
- Dimension -b- = 420 mm.
-- Connect the ring bead -3- according to the line markings -4- to the roof reinforcement.
- The bead thickness is approximately 7.5 mm.
Versions equipped with a sliding sunroof:
-- Mount the roof reinforcement -2- centered between the outer sides and at a distance -a- from the front bow -1- on the roof (example illustration).
- Dimension -a- = 15 ± 5 mm.
-- Mark the installation position and remove the roof reinforcement out of the vehicle again.
-- Apply the adhesive beads as shown on the roof reinforcement (example illustration).
-- Connect the support beads -1- according to the line markings -3- to the roof reinforcement.
- Thickness of the support beads is approximately 5 mm.
-- Connect the ring bead -2- according to the line markings -4- to the roof reinforcement.
- The bead thickness is approximately 7.5 mm.
Continuation:
-- Together with a second technician, guide the roof reinforcement into the vehicle.
-- Align the roof reinforcement according to the previously made markings and press on over the entire surface.
-- Wipe off any adhesive residue.
Further installation is performed in reverse order of the removal.
