MISFUELING Guard, Removing And Installing: Removing

Observe the safety instructions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

-- Open the fuel filler door.

-- Clean the area around the fuel filler neck.

-- Remove the fuel filler neck cap -arrow-.

-- Position the flat-head screwdriver on the locking tab -2- by inserting the screwdriver between the locking ring and metal ring on the fuel filler neck.

-- With help from a second technician, release the locking ring tab -1- by turning the screwdriver -arrow-.

-- Insert the locking ring pliers into both holes -arrows- on the locking ring.

-- Turn the locking ring counter-clockwise approximately 25°.

-- Tilt the locking ring in the fuel filler neck and remove it through the cap openings -arrows-.

-- Remove the misfueling guard from the fuel filler neck in direction of -arrow-. Use locking ring pliers if necessary.
