Front Heat Shield, Removing And Installing: Removing
There is a risk of fatal injury due to high voltage.
Electrocution by direct contact or electric arc can cause severe bodily injury or fatal injury.
- Have an Audi high-voltage technician (HVT) or an Audi high-voltage expert (HVE) de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- De-energize the high-voltage system. Refer to appropriate service information .
-- Disconnect the 12V battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the front tunnel bridge. Refer to FRONT TUNNEL BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the front and rear underbody trim panels. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY PANELS, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM .
-- Remove the muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Free up the connectors -3 and 4- and disconnect them.
-- Free up the wires -1 and 2- -arrows-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the differential pressure lines -1- from the High-Voltage Heater (PTC) - Z115- -item 2-.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and the nuts -3-.
-- Remove the High-Voltage Heater (PTC) -Z115- -item 2- from the threaded pins of the double bolts.
-- Remove the double bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the lock washers -arrows-.
-- Guide out the heat shield -1- toward the rear.
