Headliner, Removing And Installing, A6 Sedan: Removing

-- Remove the front passenger door. Refer to DOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

 

-- Remove the right A-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to A-Pillar Lower Trim Panel, Removing and Installing  .

 

-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

 

-- Remove the center console. Refer to Center Console, Removing and Installing .

 

-- Remove the rear air duct on the center tunnel. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN VEHICLE INTERIOR .

 

-- Lower the headliner. Refer to Headliner, Lowering  .

 

-- Remove the door seal -1- for the top of the front passenger door in the corner area in the sequence -arrow A- through -arrow C- and push to the side outward.

Conditions

 

-- Open the rear driver side door, turn and lower the headliner accordingly to guide it towards the front passenger door.

 

Conditions

-- To do so lower the headliner -1- at the front on the driver side and guide under the steering wheel and the instrument panel.

-- Guide out the upper headliner through the front passenger door opening -arrow A-.

-- At the same time, guide the headliner past below the center tunnel on the air duct -arrow B-.

-- To do so if necessary bend the headliner on the edges lightly and guide it past the constrictions.

 

-- Remove the headliner -1- as shown through the front passenger door.
