Headliner, Removing And Installing, A6 AVANT: Removing

-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to the appropriate servce information .

-- Remove the D-pillar left trim panel. Refer to D-Pillar Trim Panel, Removing and Installing .

-- Remove the luggage compartment side right trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITHOUT HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM , or LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM .

-- Lower the headliner. Refer to Headliner, Lowering .

Conditions

A second technician is required to remove the headliner.

-- Pull the headliner slightly toward the front and lower it on the right side and carefully guide to the lid opening.

Conditions

Make sure that all the installation components in the procedure description are removed.
Guide the headliner using care and with the help of an additional technician to the lid opening.

-- Carefully pull the headliner -1- toward the rear and lower on the right side of the vehicle.

-- Move out the headliner by turning correspondingly and lower it through the lid opening -arrow-.

-- To do so if necessary bend the headliner on the edges lightly and guide it past the constrictions.
