Upper Steering Column Trim Panel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Move the steering wheel as far to the rear and down as possible. Use the full steering column adjustment range for this.

-- Unclip the instrument panel decorative trim -2, 3- in the area of the gap cover using the scraper from Scraper Set :VAS 6845

-- Slightly push back the decorative trim.

-- Unclip the steering column trim panel gap cover -1- by hand from the instrument cluster trim in the direction of -arrows-.

-- Disengage the gap cover at the trim for the instrument cluster.

-- Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise 90° from the straight position.

-- Unclip the upper steering column trim panel -1- from the lower steering column trim panel in the direction of -arrow-.

-- To do that, slightly push forward the hook for the steering column trim panel, using the Pin :T40011 going through the opening.

-- Turn the steering wheel back 180° and repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

-- Bring the steering wheel back into the center (wheels are straight).

-- Slightly push forward the upper steering column trim panel, disengage at the lower steering column trim panel and then remove.
