Rear Thorax Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Fold the rear seat backrest forward.

-- Press the seat belt guide trim -1- out of the retainers -2- and -3- using the Trim Removal Wedge:3409 and remove the trim.

-- Remove the bench seat. Refer to REAR BENCH SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nut -arrow A-.

-- Hold the seat belt webbing to the side and remove the side cushion -1- from the threaded pins.

-- Fold the rear seat backrest slightly forward.

-- Pull the side cushion downward -arrow B-, tilt forward and disengage from the mount.

-- Unhook the side cushion at the sill panel and remove.

Continuation for all vehicles

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Release the connector lock -2- -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- on the thorax airbag igniter and free up the wire.

-- Place the side cushion on a soft surface.

-- Remove the nuts -4-.

-- Remove the rear thorax airbag -1- from the mount.

-- If equipped, remove the thorax airbag from the pocket sewn into the cover.
