Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Lower the headliner and lay it on the seats. It is not necessary to remove it from the vehicle. Refer to Headliner, Lowering .

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the head curtain airbag strap from the A-pillar.

-- Unclip the clips -1- from the A-pillar.

-- Unclip the clamps using the Clip Pliers:VAS 211 001 from the body.

-- Do this by guiding the plier tips into the openings, press the clip catches -1- together and remove the clip.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Release the connector lock -2- -arrow A-.

-- Remove the connector -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow B- with the anti-twist mechanism.

-- Remove the head curtain airbag -1- from the front mount.

-- Disengage the head curtain airbag -1- forward out of the mount and remove.
