Driver Front Airbag Crash Sensor G283, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the air intake grille in the bumper cover. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .

2.9L Engine with Auxiliary Radiator

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation A6/A7

-- Disconnect the air duct -1- -arrow-.

3.0L Engine with Auxiliary Radiator

-- Remove the front wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

Continuation for all vehicles

RS 7

-- Remove the front cover for the fender. Refer to OVERVIEW - FENDER .

Continuation for all vehicles

RS 6

-- Unclip the headlamp cover -2- at the position shown with a wedge from the Scraper Set:VAS 6845 -arrow A-.

-- Bend the headlamp cover -2- carefully upward and remove it from under the air filter housing -1- -B arrows-.

-- Pivot the headlamp cover -2- slightly to the side.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and the crash sensor -3- from the lock carrier.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- To do this remove the connector lock -2- and press down -arrow-.
