Airbag Control Module J234, Removing And Installing: Removing

If the control module is replaced, the test plan to replace the control module must be performed.

-- Perform the function "Airbag Control Module, Replacing" using the => Vehicle Diagnostic Tester . Refer to DIAGNOSTIC ENTRIES .

-- Remove the center console. Refer to Center Console, Removing and Installing .

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITHOUT ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K0) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, (0K3) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K4) .

-- Remove the rear air duct. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN VEHICLE INTERIOR .

-- Unclip the wiring harness -arrow A- from the cover using the Pry Lever:80-200  and free it up.

-- Remove nuts -B arrows- and remove the cover from threaded pins.

-- Unclip the cover -1- for the rear control module under the carpet from the threaded pin -C arrows- to do so pull the carpet slightly upward.

-- Pull the control module cover -1- out from under the carpet and remove it.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the airbag control module -1- from the threaded pins.

-- Disconnect the connectors -2- and -3- by releasing the connector safety catch and securing clip on the connector.
