Windshield Wiper, Bringing Into Service Position

CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the front lid by moving the windshield wipers back to the basic setting.
- Never maneuver a vehicle with the windshield wiper arms folded up.
CAUTION:
Risk of damage by operating frozen wiper blades.
- Let the wiper blades defrost before operating.
Conditions
- The windshield wiper motor runs only if the hood is completely closed.
-- At freezing temperatures, check that the wiper blades are not frozen on the windshield.
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Activate the windshield wiper "on" menu item using the multimedia system control head. Refer to the Owner's Manual.
Conditions
- The windshield wipers run in the "service position".
-- Switch off the ignition.
Tip
At a speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) (3.7 mph) or when operating the windshield wiper switch, move the windshield wipers back into the home position.
