Backrest Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Super Sport Seat: Removing

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS 6136  . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .

-- If installed, remove the seat backrest fan. Refer to FRONT SEAT FAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SEAT BACKREST .

-- Disconnect the wiring harness connectors for the backrest and free up the disconnected wiring harnesses. Refer to MODULAR WIRING ROUTING, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Detach the molding -1, 2 and 3- at the backrest frame by hand or using the T-Handle Hook:3438  .

-- Beginning on the tunnel side, open the closure on the backrest cover.

-- To do this, press the front side of the cover -1- with the U-shaped profile inward -arrow A- and remove the rear side of the cover -2- with the flat channel -arrow B-.

-- Detach the inner cover molding -2- at the upholstery wire -1- by hand or using the T-Handle Hook:3438  .

-- Remove the front thorax airbag. Refer to FRONT THORAX AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the backrest heating wiring harness.

-- Reach under the cushion from the rear side of the backrest and feel for the left headrest guide.

-- Press the release button -4- forward -arrow A- while pressing the release ring -3- downward -arrow B- and holding it in that position.

-- With help from a second technician, remove the cover -1- and cushion with the headrest that is covered in foam -2- upward from the backrest frame -arrow C-.

TIP:

The headrest can only be removed with difficulty.

-- Remove the cover with the cushion upward from the backrest frame.
