-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITHOUT ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K0) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, (0K3) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K4)BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K4) .

Vehicles with 2.9L TFSI Engine

-- Loosen the right catalytic converter and move it to the side. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles with 3.0L TFSI Engine

-- Remove the engine cover and the heat shield. Refer to ENGINE COVER .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

-- Remove the starter generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 2.9L TFSI ENGINE , or GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 3.0L TFSI ENGINE .

-- Remove the right engine support. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -5-.

-- Remove the nut -4-.

-- Remove the Starter -B- -1-.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Free up the B+ wire -2-.
