Battery A, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 48V System, (VH2/VH3): Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
Conditions
- At vehicles using a central venting system hose, this hose needs to be inserted in the respective vent opening at the battery again. The vent opening on the opposing side must be cosed with a blind plug.
-- Insert the battery so that the terminal clamps are still accessible.
-- Attach the central venting system hose.
-- When the ignition and electrical equipment are switched off, connect the battery in the following sequence:
-- Insert the main fuse panel -2- onto the battery positive terminal "+".
-- Tighten the nut -3-.
-- Close the cover -1-.
-- Connect the connector from the battery monitoring control module -3-.
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Connect the control module -3- to the battery negative terminal "-".
-- Tighten the nut -3-.
-- Push the battery all the way to the retaining bracket -1-.
Conditions
- Battery clamping strip must engage in the retaining bracket.
- The battery must not be able to move at all anymore.
If the battery was replaced, then perform the battery adaptation test plan.
-- Perform the "-A- 12 V Battery, Adjusting" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
Continuation
-- The following actions must be performed:
- Activate the one-touch up/down function for the power window regulators. Refer to the Owner's Manual.
- Check all the control module DTC memories and erase the displayed "undervoltage" entry using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Tip
After reconnecting the power supply, the ESP warning lamp can only go out after the vehicle has been driven a few meters.
