Battery A, Disconnecting And Connecting, Vehicles Without 48V System, (VH0)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Analog/Digital Multimeter :FLU83III
The Auxiliary Battery - A1- is switched in parallel to the Battery - A-. The vehicle electrical system will only be de-energized if the auxiliary battery was de-energized first.
Disconnecting
-- Slide the service cover -1- toward the rear -arrows- and remove it.
-- Disconnect the connector -arrow-.
Tip
The auxiliary battery is de-energized by disconnecting the connector -arrow-.
-- Open the cover in the right luggage compartment side trim panel.
-- Loosen the nut -2- and remove the Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367- -1-.
Check that it is de-energized on the jump-start connection point using the analog/digital multimeter.
-- Release the retainer -1-.
-- Open the covers -2-.
-- Measure using the Analog/Digital Multimeter :FLU83III between the positive terminal -3- and the negative terminal -4-.
Conditions
- Display on analog/digital multimeter = 0 Volt.
Connecting
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Connect the control module -3- to the battery negative terminal "-".
-- Tighten the nut -1-.
-- Connect the connector -2-.
-- Connect the connector -arrow-.
If the battery was reconnected, the following steps must be performed:
- Activate the power window regulator one-touch up/down function. Refer to the Owner's Manual.
- Check DTC memories of all control modules and delete the displayed entry "Undervoltage" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
Tip
After reconnecting the power supply, the ESP warning lamp can only go out after the vehicle has been driven a few meters.
