Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing, A6: Removing

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Push the rear wheel housing liner -3- to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- on the lower section of the bumper cover.

-- TDI engine: remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the tail lamp. Refer to TAIL LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A6 .

-- Pull the locking mechanism -1- upward in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Open the mount -2- up to the locking mechanism -arrow B-.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Loosen the clip -3- by removing the bumper cover -2- toward the rear -arrow-.

-- Release the retaining strip -2- at the catches -1- on the side mount.

-- Disengage the side piece -3- outward from the side panel in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Release the catches -4- in direction of -arrow B-.

-- With a second technician  , remove the bumper cover -5- in the center from the catches in direction of -arrow C-.

-- Right side: if equipped, disconnect the antenna wire -arrow-.

-- Lay the bumper cover on a soft surface.
