Bumper Carrier, Removing And Installing, RS6, RS7 SPORTBACK: Removing

-- Remove the bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- to the front airbag crash sensor. Pay attention to the Safety Precautions. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- and free up the wiring harness -1 and 3-.

-- Place a drip tray under the hose couplings for the washer fluid hose.

-- Press the release buttons and disconnect the headlamp washer system washer fluid hose -4-.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- to the front airbag crash sensor. Pay attention to the Safety Precautions. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- and free up the wiring harness -1 and 5-.

-- Place a drip tray under the hose couplings for the washer fluid hose.

-- Press the release buttons and disconnect the headlamp washer system washer fluid hoses -2 and 3-.

-- For reinstallation, label the installation position of the bumper carrier -1- on both sides of the lock carrier -arrow-.

-- Remove the bolts -2, 3, 4 and 5-.

-- Release the retainer -2-.

-- Tilt the top of the bumper carrier -3- forward and push upward, until the tab -arrow- is freed up.

-- Remove the bumper carrier; the spring element -1- slides out of its mount during this.

-- If the bumper carrier is to be replaced, also remove the following components:

• Molded Foam Piece. Refer to MOLDED FOAM PART, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
