Adaptive Cruise Control (Acc), Adjusting, Dynamic Adjustment, Calibration Drive

Calibration/adjustment must be performed if:

The test plan in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester requires a readjustment.
A software update has been performed.
The Distance Regulation Control Module -J428- was removed and installed/replaced.
The lock carrier is loosened, adjusted or replaced.
The impact member is loosened, adjusted or replaced.
There is damage at the front impact member or lock carrier.
The rear axle toe was adjusted.
The vehicle suspension was changed, for example changing from standard to sport suspension.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Vehicle Diagnostic Tester

Procedure

-- Check sensors and retainers for damage, external influence and secure fit. Service any damaged components.

-- Check the front bumper cover for damage, cracks and secure fit. Service any damaged components.

-- Check the DTC memory for adaptive cruise control (ACC). Fix all displayed entries.

The ACC control module "adjustment angle measured value" shows whether the sensor is misaligned.
Proper ACC operation requires correct alignment.

-- Turn on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Select and start the Diagnostic operating mode.

-- Select the Test plan tab.

-- Select the individual tests button.

Dynamic calibration of a driver assistance system

-- Select the following items in the tree structure one after the other.
