Central Valve, Removing And Installing: Removing
The central valves are attached to the underbody in the rear on the left side.
-- Remove the left rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the bolts and nuts -arrows-.
-- Loosen the wheel housing liner -1- in the rear area and push forward.
There is a risk of eye injury from hydraulic fluid.
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Bleed the DRC system (Dynamic Ride Control). Refer to DYNAMIC RIDE CONTROL (DRC), DRAINING AND FILLING .
TIP:
The DRC lines must be extracted before disconnecting them from the central valve. Refer to DYNAMIC RIDE CONTROL (DRC), DRAINING AND FILLING .
Perform this step on both wiring harnesses on the central valve.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Disengage the heat shield from the bracket -1- and remove.
Left Central Valve:
-- Remove the union bolts -1- and detach hydraulic lines.
-- Remove the bolts -3-, remove central valve -2-.
Right Central Valve:
-- Remove the union bolts -2- and detach hydraulic lines.
TIP:
Use a long extension and a 24 mm crowfoot wrench, commercially available, to remove the union bolts.
-- Remove the bolts -4-.
-- Remove the nuts -1-.
-- Slightly press down the bracket -5- and remove central valve -3-.
