Locking Mechanism For Backrest With Pass-Through, Removing And Installing, Q3: Removing

-- Move the front seats all the way forward.

-- Position the rear seat all the way toward the rear.

-- Fold the pass-through slightly forward.

-- Remove the center headrest. Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left headrest guide in the center backrest. Refer to HEADREST GUIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the locking mechanism trim. Refer to LOCKING MECHANISM TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the clamping strips -1 and 4- for the cover from the rear seat backrest locking mechanism.

-- Remove the cushion from the pass-through in the locking mechanism area. Refer to COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, Q3 BACKREST WITH PASS-THROUGH .

TIP:

The locking mechanism -2- is secured on the pass-through frame with rivets -3- during production (first installation).

If a repair is required (reinstallation), the rivets -3- will be replaced by bolts with nuts.

CAUTION:

Risk of injury due to flying metal shavings.

Irritation and injury to skin and eyes possible.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Wear safety gloves.

-- Place a protector under the pass-through to catch metal shavings.

-- Drill out the rivets -3-.

-- Remove the locking mechanism -2- from the backrest frame.
