Vehicle Without Active Transport Mode

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Battery Tester :VAS 6161
The battery is in the luggage compartment.
Removal Procedures:
-- Raise the luggage compartment floor covering and secure.
Procedure :
-- Switch on the Battery Tester :VAS 6161 and select "new vehicle quality control test".
-- Measure the voltage between the battery terminal clamps with the Battery Tester :VAS 6161 .
-- The following actions are derived from the test result:
| Battery tester display: | Action: |
|---|---|
| "Battery good" | No further measure necessary. |
| "Immediately fully charge." | Charge the battery. Refer to BATTERY, CHARGING . |
| "Battery defective" | Charge the battery (refer to BATTERY, CHARGING ) and hang the "faulty battery" mirror hanging tag. |
-- Enter the charge level on the Maintenance Table.
NOTE:
When using the Battery Tester :VAS 6161 it must be ensured that the most current software is being used.
If when measuring the charge level (SOC) with the Battery Tester :VAS 6161 is not possible measure the battery voltage. Refer to BATTERY VOLTAGE, MEASURING .
