Luggage Compartment Side Trim Panel, Removing And Installing, AVANT: Removing

-- Equipped on some models: remove the luggage compartment roll cover.

-- Equipped on some models: remove the screen separator.

-- Remove the side cushion. Refer to SIDE CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the tie-downs. Refer to TIE DOWN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the rail. Refer to RAIL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- All excluding g-tron; remove the luggage compartment floor support. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- g-tron: remove the luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, G-TRON .

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

-- Remove the rubber grommet -1- on the screen separator bracket.

-- Push the bag hook -1- into the bag hook mount -arrow A-.

-- At the same time, turn the bag hook all the way counter-clockwise -arrow B- and remove it.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Turn the quick release -1- 90° counter-clockwise and pivot the service cover inward.

-- If equipped, disconnect the connector.

-- Remove the service cover -2- upward from the luggage compartment side trim panel -arrow-.

-- Free up the luggage compartment side trim panel near the rear lid seal.

-- Unclip the luggage compartment side trim panel -1- from the body starting at the back -arrows A and B-.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the luggage compartment side trim panel from handling incorrectly.

Proceed very carefully when removing and installing.
Depending on the version the catch -2- can with be equipped with additional hooks. Before unclipping the luggage compartment side trim panel from the D-pillar trim panel if necessary push the hook upward.

-- Unclip the luggage compartment side trim panel from the D-pillar trim panel -arrow C- to do so the locking tab -2- must be released.

-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel -1- from the body and trim panels -arrows A, B and C-.

-- Disconnect the luggage compartment lamp connector. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMPS .

-- If installed, disconnect the connector for the power pivoting trailer hitch button.

-- Disengage the luggage compartment side trim panel from the rear seat backrest catch.

-- Pull the luggage compartment side trim panel slightly inward and disengage the release cable for the backrest remote unlock.

-- To do so, disengage the release cable support bracket -1- from the mount on the side trim panel -arrow A-.

-- Disengage the release cable mounting -3- from the release lever -2- for the remote backrest release -arrow B-.

-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel.
