Turbocharger, Removing And Installing, AUDI A3 From My 2021/Q2 From My 2016/Q3 From My 2019/TT From My 2015: Removing

• Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
• On a turbocharger with mechanical damage pay attention to foreign objects in the engine. Refer to FOREIGN OBJECTS IN ENGINE .

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT .

Audi A3 from MY 2021/Q2 from MY 2016/Q3 from MY 2019:

-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Audi TT from MY 2015:

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the wires -2- on the air filter housing bracket -1- using the Pry Lever:80-200  .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the bracket.

-- Free up the wiring harness -3-.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-. Refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left air duct pipe. Refer to LEFT AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the cylinder ignition coils "2, 3 and 4". Refer to IGNITION COILS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connectors:

For Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor -G1037-, only for vehicles with particulate filter

For the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -N249-

For the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-

For the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- /Fuel Metering Valve -N290-

-- Free up the wiring harness and pivot it forward.

-- Remove the upper coolant pipe. Refer to UPPER COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the hose clamps -1, 2 and 3- and remove the coolant hoses.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and carefully pivot the coolant ventilation line to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -1-, turn the connection in the -direction of the arrow- and remove.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the air duct hose.

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122  .

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the screw-type clamp.

-- Loosen the bolt -2- and disengage the catalytic converter upward and push to the side. (Shown with the engine removed.)

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and nuts -1- and remove the heat shield.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -2- and remove the hoses.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and free up the control lines (example illustration).

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor -G1037- with the bracket.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Push the release buttons on the hose -1- for the crankcase ventilation on both sides and remove the Venturi injector (example illustration).

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and push the oil supply line -1- to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, and remove the coolant connection -1- and the oil return line -2-.

-- Disconnect and free up the connector -arrow- for the Charge Air Pressure Control Module -GX34-.
