Overview - Camshaft Housing

- Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Axial play, measuring. Refer to CAMSHAFT, MEASURING AXIAL CLEARANCE .
- Radial play, measuring. Refer to CAMSHAFT, MEASURING RADIAL CLEARANCE .
- Maximum run out: 0.04 mm
- Perform the adaptation after removing or replacing using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester 0001 - Engine electronics, functions , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation
- Camshaft Housing
- Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Only replace the cylinder head and camshaft housing together
- Install with sealant. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Perform the adaptation after removing or replacing using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester 0001 - Engine electronics, functions , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation

Bearing cap for camshafts - tightening specification and sequence
- Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
-- Tighten the bolts in the steps in the sequence shown:

Camshaft Housing - Tightening Specification and Sequence
- Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
-- Tighten the bolts in the steps in the sequence shown:

| 1. | -1 to 23- | Install by hand until the bolt heads contact the camshaft housing. |
| 2. | -1 to 23- | Turn one turn farther in several stages until the camshaft housing contacts the cylinder head completely and until 8 Nm torque is reached. |

Engine cover bracket - tightening specification
-- Tighten the bolts -2- to 9 Nm.
