Timing Mechanism Drive Chain, Removing And Installing: Removing

- The engine is removed and secured to the engine/transmission holder. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
-- Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Press back the guide rail using a screwdriver -arrow- and lock the pistons from the chain tensioner for the drive chain using the Locking Pins:T03006 .
CAUTION:
Risk of destroying a drive chain by reversing the running direction.
- Before removing, make a arrow marking of the running direction and allocation with paint.
- Pay attention to the running direction when reinstalling.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and the chain tensioner.
-- Remove the guide rail -1 and 4-.
-- Remove the timing mechanism drive chain -2-.
