Refrigerant Lines To Expansion Valve, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- on the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31- /Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 -G299-.

-- Remove the line -2- for the EVAP system, to do so push the release buttons on both sides.

-- Free up the wire for the EVAP system at the air duct pipe.

-- Release the catches -arrows- using the Intake Manifold Release Tool :T10527 and :T10527/1 .

-- Remove the air duct pipe -1-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the coolant expansion tank.

-- Release the retainers -4- using a screwdriver -A-, loosen the coolant expansion tank and move it to the side.

-- Release the retainer in direction of -arrow-, pull the heat shield -1- off to the left and remove it.

-- Disconnect the connector for the High-Voltage Battery Coolant Valve -N688-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Loosen the bracket -1- from the plenum chamber bulkhead and lay aside the High-Voltage Battery Coolant Valve -N688- with the refrigerant lines still connected.

-- Free up the wires on the upper area of the heat shield.

-- If equipped, remove the heat shield -1-.

-- Remove the lock washers -3 and 5-.

-- Move the heat shield -4- as far forward as possible.

-- Disconnect the connector -7- from the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541-.

CAUTION:

Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit has not been opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.

-- Remove the bolt -5-.

-- Remove the nuts -1-.

-- Remove the refrigerant line -6- from the expansion valve.

-- Loosen the refrigerant lines -2 and 3- from the bracket, to ensure clearance for the refrigerant line -4-.

-- Free up the refrigerant line -4- and remove it in direction of the high-voltage battery heat exchanger.

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
