Brake Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing, LHD Vehicles: Removing

Vehicles without high-voltage system excluding 2.0L TFSI North American/2.5L TFSI:

-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with 2.0L TFSI North American:

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with high-voltage system:

-- Remove the electric drive power and control electronics. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.

-- Unclip the Drive Motor High-Voltage Wiring Harness -PX2- -1- from the bracket -3- -arrows- and put to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -3- and the nut -2-.

-- Remove the bracket -4-.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- To prevent brake fluid from escaping, place enough lint-free cloths in the area under the brake master cylinder.

-- Remove the brake lines -1 and 2- from the brake master cylinder.

-- Immediately close open connection points with a clean plug.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Disconnect and remove the brake master cylinder from the brake booster.
