Hood Latch, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- TDI: remove the air duct on the lock carrier. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- TFSI: remove the air duct on the lock carrier. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Loosen the washer fluid reservoir filler neck from the lock carrier. Refer to WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Free up the connector -3-.

-- Free up the release cable on the lock carrier.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the hood latch -1- forward.

-- Release the catches -4- and remove the cable bracket from the mount -3- -arrow-.

-- Pull the release cable nipples -1 and 2- out of the release levers on the hood latch.

-- Remove the hood latch.
