Fuel Filler Door Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the right luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the emergency release cable in the luggage compartment.

-- Detach the rear section of the right wheel housing liner and push it aside. Refer to OVERVIEW - REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the water drain hose -1- -arrows-.

-- Remove the fuel filler door trim. Refer to FUEL FILLER DOOR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- To make it easier to guide, coat the wedge on the edge of the fuel filler door unit -2- with soapy water.

-- Remove the fuel filler cap.

-- Guide the wedge no. 26 -item 1- from the :VAS 895 015  between the fuel filler door unit -2- and side panel -3-.

-- Push down the edge of the fuel filler door unit, until the hook -arrow- is loosened behind in the side panel.

-- Guide the trim removal wedge no. 4 -item 3- from the :VAS 895 015  in the gap -arrow- between the fuel filler door unit -2- and the side panel -4- and leave it inserted, so that the fuel filler door unit remains pressed outward.

-- Guide the trim removal wedge no. 26 -item 1- between the edge of the fuel filler door unit and side panel and loosen the fuel filler door unit from the side panel.

-- Guide the trim removal wedge no. 8 -item 1- from the :VAS 895 015  in the gap -arrow A- between the fuel filler door unit -2- and the side panel -3- and leave it inserted, so that the fuel filler door unit remains pressed outward.

-- Guide the wedge no. 26 -item 4- from the :VAS 895 015  between the fuel filler door unit and side panel.

-- Push down the edge of the fuel filler door unit, until the hook -arrow B- is loosened behind in the side panel.

-- Pivot the fuel filler door unit -2- in the loosened area to the outside -arrow A- and remove it from the side panel -3-.

-- At the same time use the trim removal wedge no. 26 -item 1- from the :VAS 895 015  to release the hook -arrow B-.

-- Guide the water drain hose with it out of the side panel.

-- Disconnect the connector.

-- Remove the fuel filler door unit while guiding out the emergency release cable.
