Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

RS3:

-- Disengage the foam seal -3- on the bumper cover -1- and remove the mount from the bumper cover -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Loosen the wheel housing liner from the retainer in the bumper cover area. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

RS3 equipment version with headlamp washer system:

-- Remove the wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Place a drip tray under the coupling point for the washer fluid hose.

-- Press the release buttons -1- and remove the washer fluid hose -2-.

-- Seal the hose coupling with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .

A3/S3 equipment version with headlamp washer system:

-- Remove the wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Place a drip tray under the coupling point for the washer fluid hose.

-- Remove the water drain hose -1- from the headlamp washer pump to do this push the release buttons.

-- Seal the hose coupling with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -4-.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Disengage the bumper cover side piece -3- from the side panel -arrow A- and remove the bumper cover -2- toward the front with the help of a second technician -arrow B-.

-- Lay the bumper cover on a soft surface.
