Tie Rod, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the boot. Refer to BOOT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Turn the steering as follows:
- For the left tie rod, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right
- For the right tie rod, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left
-- Remove the tie rod.
- Torque Wrench Insert - Open Jaw:VAG1923
- Torque Wrench
CAUTION:
There is a risk of destroying the steering gear if the boot is faulty.
Moisture and dirt could enter.
- Check the splines on the steering rack for a visible lubricating film.
- If the film of grease is missing, replace the steering gear.
