Lower Control Arm Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing, Replacing: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Bearing Installer - Wheel Bearing:3345
- Bearing Installer - Multiple Use:3348
- Press Plate:VW401
- Press Piece - Rod:VW411
- Press Piece - Multiple Use:VW412
- Sleeve:VW459/2
from the Bearing Installer - Ball Joint/Bushing/Bearing:VW459
- Grease. Refer to the => Electronic Parts Information (ETKA) for the allocation.
- Brush, commercially available
Bonded Rubber Bushing, Pressing Out
- Control arm is removed. Refer to LOWER CONTROL ARM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Position the special tool as shown:
- Press Piece - Rod:VW411
- Bearing Installer - Multiple Use:3348
- Control Arm
- Bearing Installer - Wheel Bearing:3345
- Press Plate:VW401
-- Press out the bonded rubber bushing.
Bonded Rubber Bushing, Pressing In
-- Note the installation position of the bonded rubber bushing. Refer to the illustration below.
-- Position the special tool as shown:
- Press Piece - Multiple Use:VW412
- Sleeve :VW459/2 , the inner offset in the sleeve -arrow- points downward
- Control Arm
- Bearing Installer - Wheel Bearing:3345
- Press Plate:VW401
- Bonded Rubber Bushing
-- Install the bonded rubber bushing.
- Press in the bonded rubber bushing until the Bearing Installer - Ball Joint/Bushing/Bearing:VW459/2 contacts the control arm.
