Backrest Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Secure the front seat to the seat repair bracket. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the headrest. Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disengage the moldings -1-, -2- and -3- using the T-Handle Hook:3438  from the backrest frame.

-- Open the backrest cover on the clamping strips starting on the tunnel side.

-- To do this, press the front side of the cover -1- with the U-shaped profile inward -arrows A- and remove the rear side of the cover -2- with the flat channel -arrows B-.

-- Remove the expanding rivet -arrows- with a Pry Lever:80-200  .

-- Remove the front outer thorax airbag. Refer to FRONT THORAX AIRBAG, OUTER SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the front inner thorax airbag. Refer to INNER THORAX AIRBAG, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: free up the backrest heating wiring harness. Refer to MODULAR WIRING ROUTING, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Loosen the cover and cushion from the backrest frame and remove them upward.
