Procedure
NOTE:
General repair instructions. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .
Guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Do not exchange the transmission fluid (MTF) chamber with the ATF chamber.
Replace the plug for the inspection and fill hole.
- Transmission fluid temperature is approximately 20 °C (68 °F (room temperature).
- Move vehicle onto a four-pillar workshop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal.
- The transmission must be still for at least 15 minutes to make sure the oil settles internally.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
WARNING:
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Remove the plug -arrow- for the right inspection and fill hole on the transmission housing with the :T40087 .
- The manual transmission fluid (MTF) must be 2 mm from the lower edge of the inspection and fill hole.
-- If the oil level is not correct, fill with transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
