Transmission Fluid Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing
NOTE:
General repair instructions. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .
Guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Move vehicle onto a four-pillar workshop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal for the refilling.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -2-.
-- Remove the crossbrace end panel -1-.
-- Place the :SMN372500 underneath.
WARNING:
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
CAUTION:
Risk of electrical corrosion.
- There must not be any transmission fluid (MTF) in the connector area.
- Disconnect the connector -2- only after the transmission fluid drains.
NOTE:
When removing the oil pump, the transmission drains abruptly.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the oil pump -1-.
-- After draining the transmission fluid, disconnect the connector -2-.
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the transmission.
Without any or with too little transmission fluid inside the transmission:
- Do not start the engine.
- Do not tow the vehicle.
