Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Secure the front seat to the Seat Repair Fixture :VAS 6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If installed, remove the seat functions control module. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - ELECTRIC AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS .
-- If installed, remove the pneumatic seat compressor. Refer to OVERVIEW - PNEUMATIC SYSTEM .
Vehicles with bolted control module
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Disengage the control module -1- from the bracket -arrow-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -3- and -4-.

Vehicles with clipped control module
-- Release the control module -1- from the catches -arrow-.
-- Disengage the control module -1- from the bracket.
-- Disconnect the connectors -2- and -3-.
-- Free up the electrical wire.
-- Remove the front trim bracket. Refer to OVERVIEW - SEAT PAN .
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Disconnect the modular wiring routing. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT SEAT .
-- Open the corrugated tube and free up the wire.
-- Remove the nut -arrow A- and free up the wire.
-- Disconnect the connectors -B arrows- and free up the wire.
-- Unclip and free up the wiring harness from the seat pan.
-- Remove the cover and cushion on the seat pan. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If necessary, disconnect the cover and cushion from the seat pan. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, SEPARATING .
