Fan Shroud, Removing And Installing, 2.9L Engine: Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the right front wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the lock carrier cover and the bumper cover end plate. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .

-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray :VAS6208 underneath.

-- Lift the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose from the lower right of the radiator and drain the coolant.

-- Pry up the clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose from the lower left side of the radiator.

-- Lift the clamps -1 and 2-, remove and free up the coolant connection from the radiator.

-- Remove the left and right headlamp cover -1- upward in direction of -arrows-.

-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrows- and remove the upper air duct -1-.

-- Remove the left and right bolt -1- and push the coolant pipe to the side.

-- Remove the charge air cooling circuit cooler. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLING CIRCUIT COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and push the Charge Air Cooling Pump -V188- to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the High Pressure Sensor -G65-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the refrigerant lines and hoses by removing and pivoting the condenser.

- Do not bend, twist or stretch the refrigerant lines and hoses.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the retainers due to improper handling.

- Carefully release the retainers.

-- Release the left and right catches -arrows-, disengage the condenser -1- on the radiator, tilt downward and secure.

-- Remove the bolts to the left and right -arrows - and push the radiator bracket with the radiator toward the front.

-- Release the left and right catches in direction of -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.

- When performing procedures near the radiator maintain a distance to the radiator.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- for the radiator fan.

-- Push the left and right locking latches for the fan shroud at the same time in direction of -arrow- and lift the fan shroud upward from the radiator and remove from downward.
