Expansion Valve, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Check the support ring -D- for proper installation position and check the grommet in the plenum chamber rear panel for damage and proper installation.
-- Clean the connecting tubes -B and C- for the evaporator and check for damage.
-- Check that the retaining plate -A- is correctly positioned on the evaporator connecting tubes -B and C-.
-- Replace the O-ring -D and E-, and coat lightly with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
-- Insert the O-rings -D and E- into the grooves from the connecting tubes -B and C- -arrows-.
-- Replace the O-rings. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
-- Always clean the expansion valve and refrigerant lines around the connection area and check for damage.
-- Make sure the O-rings fit properly inside the grooves in the refrigerant line connections -B and C-.
- Install the refrigerant lines stress-free.
-- Check the routing of the refrigerant lines after attachment. They must be inserted in the provided brackets in a tension-free manner and must not come in contact with other components.
-- Evacuate and charge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
Vehicles with High-Voltage System
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024-, and activate the power-controlled valves through the stored routine Charge/flush the refrigerant circuit stop routine using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
