Desiccant Bag/Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, RS 6/ RS 7: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Replace the plug -A- with the filter element and both O-ring seals -B and C- (included in the dryer delivery package). Refer to the Parts Information.
- Lightly coat the O-rings -B and C- with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
- Make sure the O-rings sit correctly inside the grooves of the respective components.
- Keep the desiccant bag -E- sealed in its air-tight package as long as possible. Open the package just before inserting the dryer cartridge in the receiver/dryer of the condenser. The dryer cartridge absorbs moisture from the surrounding air in a very short time and becomes unusable.
-- Remove the desiccant bag -E- from its package and insert in the receiver/dryer.
-- Install the plug -A- with the O-ring seals -B and C-.
-- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
