1. Bolt
   • Replace after removing
   • Clean the threaded hole, for example, using a thread tap, before installing the new bolt.
   • Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check if the steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten the bolt.
   • 30 Nm
2. Steering Intermediate Shaft
   • Removing and installing. Refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
3. Crossmember
   • For the instrument panel
4. Bolt
   • 1.5 Nm
5. Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
6. Steering Column
   • Removing and installing. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Handling and transporting. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, HANDLING AND TRANSPORTING .
   • Check for damage. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, CHECKING FOR DAMAGE .
7. Anti-Theft Protection Component Lower Section

   • Quantity: 4
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
9. Anti-Theft Protection Component Upper Section
10. Power Adjustable Steering Column Control Module -J866-
    • Removing and installing. Refer to Power Adjustable Steering Column Control Module -J866-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
11. Bolt
    • 4.5 Nm
12. Bolt
    • Replace after removing

-- Tighten the steering column bolts -arrow- in a -1 to 4- sequence (example illustration).
