E-Tron Charging System Diagnostic

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Diagnostic Adapter for High-Voltage Charging System:VAS 611 009 
• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester

Procedure 

• For the e-tron "compact" or "connect" charging system, it is possible to run diagnostics independently with the ODIS service using the :VAS 611 009  ; that means there is no diagnostic entry in the vehicle.
• Because the e-tron charging system "compact" or "connect" involves am external component, no VIN can be read out during diagnostic entry and consequently there are some important notes to pay attention to.
• For the diagnostic entry on the e-tron charging system "compact" or "connect" pay attention to the following described steps.

-- Disconnect the High-Voltage Charging System Control Head -E943- from the power supply.

-- Disconnect the charging cable for the side of the vehicle.

-- Connect the Diagnostic Adapter:VAS 611 009  -item 1- between the Charging Cable for High-Voltage Charging System, Power Connection -P88- -item 2- and High-Voltage Charging System Control Head -E943- -item 3-.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester on the Diagnostic Adapter for High-Voltage Charging System:VAS 611 009  .

-- Connect the Diagnostic Adapter for High-Voltage Charging System:VAS 611 009  with the power supply.

-- Connect the High-Voltage Charging System Control Head -E943-.

Depending on the ODIS version, AUDILADEKABELMINI for PR number NW1 or AUDILADEKABELMAXI for PR number NW2 must be entered instead of the VIN during entry.

-- Select ODIS Service and start the diagnostic mode.

On the scan tool display

1. VIN not found Checking Ignition/Diagnostic Interface
2. Press the Continue Button.

On the scan tool display

1. An error has occurred in the automatic identification of the vehicle. Please identify the vehicle manually.
2. Press the OK button

-- In the "vehicle identification" line:

1. Activate "Manual"

-- In the "VIN" line enter the following:

"AUDILADEKABELMINI for PR Number NW1"

-- If no brand is already selected in the "Manufacturer" line, select "Audi".

-- In the "Model" line, enter the following:

"All External Components"

-- Ignore the lines "Model year", "Version", "Motor".

-- In the line "work with Guided Fault Finding" check:

Must be activated

-- To continue:

5 -

Press Accept

-- If possible, enter the VIN of the vehicle -arrow- with which the customer of the affected e-tron charging system "compact" or "connect" is used.
