Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Rear Seat Backrest: Removing
-- Remove the rear seat backrest. Refer to Rear Seat Backrest, Removing and Installing .
-- Place the rear seat backrest on a clean surface.
-- Remove the headrest. Refer to Headrest, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the locking mechanism trim. Refer to Locking Mechanism Trim, Removing and Installing .
-- Left rear seat backrest: remove the rear seat belt guide in the center. Refer to REAR SEAT BELT GUIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Pry out the trim panel -1- for the rear seat backrest starting on the locking mechanism all around from the backrest frame -2- out of the groove in direction of -arrows- using scraper no. 1 from the Scraper Set: VAS6845 .
-- Pry out the clamping strip -1- for the cover with a flat-head screwdriver starting on the locking mechanism all around from the backrest frame -2- and remove in direction of -arrows-.
-- Disengage the cover -2- carefully one after the other from the headrest guides -1- and remove it over the headrest guide in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Carefully remove the cushion -3- from the backrest release -4- and remove it slightly in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the rear seat backrest locking mechanism. Refer to LOCKING MECHANISM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, OUTER REAR SEAT BACKREST .
-- Carefully disengage the cushion from the headrest guides and remove it over the headrest guide.
-- Left rear seat backrest: remove the cover from the locking brackets for the pass-through.
-- Pull the baseplate with the cover -2- carefully over the inner rear seat backrest bearing -1- in direction of -arrow- and disengage.
-- Push the cover and cushion to the side and disengage and rubber boot -3- for the baseplate.
-- Loosen the cover -1- with the cushion from the backrest frame.
-- Disengage and remove the cover from the rear seat backrest bearing -2-.
